RAM DDR4

RAM stands for Random Access Memory and with an audio computer it will mostly be used for streaming samples from virtual instruments. With RAM it's important you have enough, if you work with a lot of samples then not having enough RAM will mean you are streaming from the drive which even with modern SSDs (solid state drives) is much slower. As a general rule we work to this: Light sample use (say one drum sampler in a project) 8GB should be enough, 16GB will give you headroom. With moderate sample based music production (a couple instances of something like omnisphere 2 and a few Native Instrument libraries) then 16GB should be enough and 32GB will give you the headroom/piece of mind. Moving up to large sample based productions it's a case of as much as your budget can justify! As always drop us a message to talk through what's best for your situation if you are unsure.
